Gain accurate and reliable knowledge about living cells with your Axio Observer. According to the cell biology experiments you run, choose the degree of motorization and automation out of 3 different stands. Simply stay focused on your scientific experiments.
Combine your Axio Observer with high end fluorescence imaging systems: Cell Observer SD, ApoTome.2,
LSM 710 and all other laser scanning systems from Carl Zeiss. The brilliant optics and fluorescence optimized beampath make Axio Observer the only base for Laser TIRF 3 and the ELYRA superresolution systems.
Create the perfect environment for your live cell experiments with the software controlled incubation modules. Regulate temperature, CO2 and oxygen concentration.

Your Axio Observer supports incubation for every requirement of cell biology: from small stage top solutions like incubator PM S1 to laser safe XL incubators for Laser TIRF 3 or micromanipulation in a CO2 atmosphere.
Control all incubation parameters like temperature, CO2 and oxygen concentration via touch screen or ZEN imaging software. Remove oxygen completely from the incubation atmosphere to perform even the most demanding hypoxy experiments.
Analyze temperature-sensitive mutant proteins and perform heat shock experiments. The temperature data are stored as metadata with the image data.

New generation differential interference contrast (DIC) illuminates the whole field of view homogeneously. Get crisp images and resolve finest details of your cell biology sample.
With PlasDIC, use plastic trays or multiwell plates for your experiments. This relief contrast makes PlasDIC suitable for thicker adherent cells or oocytes as well as for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Or use improved Hoffman Modulation Contrast (iHMC) for your IVF techniques.
Contrast the structures of your unstained specimens more clearly by combining positive and negative phase contrast.
HE filter sets and the optimized beampath in your Axio Observer let you reduce the exposure times by up to 50 percent in fluorescence experiments. They improve the signal-to-noise ratio, separate signals clearly and allow optimum yield from your experiment.
Your Axio Observer contrast manager and light manager make sure all components are set correctly, even if you change magnification. This is especially welcome in cell biology experiments when working with living cells. Save time and avoid unwanted exposure to light.
